Singeo Review – Is It Worth It? (2024)

Singeo is an online teaching platform for singing made by Musora Media, the same company that’s behind the popular teaching platforms Drumeo, Guitareo, and Pianote. Singeo offers a specialized curriculum and a multitude of instructors for beginners and intermediate singers.

After spending some time using Singeo, I’ve written my thoughts, which should help determine if it’s for you or not.

Please note that Singeo provided me with a free membership in order to evaluate the service. However, my opinions are my own and I am honestly explaining my thoughts in this review.

Much like the Drumeo, Guitareo, and Pianote platforms, Singeo is a comprehensive platform that has a dedicated curriculum and method. It’s designed to help you find and improve your voice through a series of video lessons and songs that you can watch on their website, mobile device (iOS and Android), and tablet.

Note: When you’re logged in, all of your devices are connected, so you can continue any lesson you start even if you switch devices.

Singeo is a great platform for beginner and intermediate singers, though there currently isn’t a lot of advanced content for experienced singers. For beginners, however, it takes an excellent approach to help you get out of your shell and take your first steps to find your voice. As Lisa Witt, the instructor on the platform would say, “If you can talk, you can sing!

Singeo is backed up by 8 professional instructors that cover everything from starting out and finding your voice to learning harmony, technique, and emotion.

The Singeo Method is a 10-level course, designed to teach you singing and everything it encompasses. From finding your unique voice to learning music theory for singers to harmony and ear training, you can learn how to sing with a dedicated and encouraged, step-by-step approach.

The platform also has a decent karaoke-style song library with over 130 songs. It’s not amazingly vast but covers almost all singing ranges.

Additionally, Singeo has a student-focus section that deals with student reviews. You can submit a video performance and get video feedback on your singing. You also have a quick tip section as additional content and even moderately-frequent live sessions on various topics.

One of the best sections, in my opinion, is the routines section. It is filled with useful advice and practice routines to help you on your singing journey. It includes everything from a quick warm-up routine to a full warm-up, pitch training, range-building, and more.

Lastly, the layout of the platform is very user-friendly. If you already have a membership on Drumeo, Guitareo, or Pianote, you will notice that they all use the same great design.

Is Singeo Worth It?

Singeo is worth it for beginners and intermediates. It is an affordable teaching platform with a specialized curriculum and dedicated instructors to help you find your voice, strengthen it, and use it to the best of your abilities. It’s great for intermediate singers who need help reaching that next level and strengthening their fundamentals in the process.

There isn’t much content (at the moment) for advanced singers and their song library lacks more advanced songs that cater to experienced singers in need of proper training. Though this may change in the future since the platform is always expanding.

Much like other online teaching platforms, it lacks the on-hand experience that private tutoring gives you. However, it is still a comprehensive platform that is great for learning and is relatively affordable, especially when you compare it to the price of private lessons.

Courses and Teachers

Singeo has 8 dedicated instructors, starting with Lisa Witt, which you may already know if you’ve used the Pianote platform. She is the perfect starting instructor to help you start your singing journey. In addition, all the other instructors (coaches) deal with certain aspects of singing like technique, emotion, and even songwriting.

The Singeo Method – 10-Level Course

The Singeo Method is a 10-level, step-by-step course, designed to help you start your musical journey. Each level contains multiple video lessons, perfect for building a strong foundation for singing.

The Singeo Method is really helpful for beginners, with a tailored curriculum that captures everything from building a strong foundation to using your voice to the best of your abilities.

You start by simply understanding how your voice works and the three keys to singing – breath, vocal cords, and shape. Gradually, you strengthen your voice through a series of practices and routines to gain control over your singing abilities. Then the really fun part comes, you start singing songs!

You get to learn techniques such as vibrato, falsetto, belting, and vocal fry. Then you take it to the next step by learning to sing riffs and runs to embellish your performance even further.

There is even a music theory section to learn the language of music to better understand singing in general. This is a great starter course to help you learn everything you may need to successfully start your singing journey and step into the spotlight!

Singeo Songs

Singeo currently has a fairly modest song library. It has over 130 karaoke-based songs, meaning that you can try your singing abilities anytime you want. Their song library is lacking advanced songs but has more than enough for beginner and intermediate singers.

You can filter songs according to style and genre, singing level, or even choose a particular artist. The layout is easy to use and you can even track your progress with completed lessons (songs) to earn experience on the platform which virtually increases your level on the platform, much like a video game experience.

The songs in the song library are presented in a karaoke style and they, unfortunately, don’t include tutorials or advice about how to sing those songs.

The song library has a very interesting feature that lets you lower or increase the range of the song to better cater to your vocal range which can be helpful.

Student Focus and Live Lessons

The student focus section is a great feature on the platform. It centers around student reviews and Q&As. You can submit questions and get answers from the coaches on the platform or even submit a video performance of a song in order to get feedback from one of the instructors to further develop your singing and technique.

These video reviews are posted within this section so that every student can see and get advice. It is a great way to improve the social and interactive aspects of the experience.

The platform also hosts live events and lessons which are scheduled on their calendar. These live sessions cover certain songs or center around a particular topic like warm-ups, singing advice, harmonies, and range.

Singeo App

The Singeo App is available for iOS and Android users and is connected to each device you’re logged on to, meaning that for every lesson or video you start, you can continue on any other device.

The app is great to use and has a nice, minimalist layout. Even if you’re out and about, you can catch the latest live session or watch lessons while on the move.

Singeo vs Private Lessons

Private lessons offer you immediate feedback, individualized plans, and the potential to have a long-term rapport with a teacher you trust. On the other hand, finding a reputable private tutor can be hit-and-miss, while Singeo gives you access to get feedback from world-class vocal coaches through their student reviews feature.

Their student reviews feature allows you to submit videos of your singing for feedback from one of their coaches. There is no limit to how many times you can use this feature, though keep in mind that the feedback isn’t live.

Almost nothing can replicate the personalized experience of getting private lessons with an outstanding vocal coach. However, not all private lessons are equal, and having a bad teacher can lead to no results, strain – or worse – getting hurt. Singeo takes the hassle away by doing all the vetting and offering world-class vocal coaches.

Some people like the accountability of having a private tutor, while others prefer the independence of using a platform like Singeo. Of course, you can get the best of both worlds and use both if your budget allows it!

Singeo is also great for shy people that want to learn some singing techniques without having to sit in front of a tutor. On the other hand, private lessons can be useful for nervous students to get used to singing in front of someone.

As you can see, the answer depends on a lot of factors, but it’s easy to try out Singeo for free and see if it’s for you!

Singeo Pricing

Singeo is quite affordable, especially when you compare it to the price of private singing lessons. The platform is steadily expanding and it’s a great deal for anyone interested in learning how to sing.

If you’d like to give Singeo a try, then you can get a free 7-day trial using this link!

There is a monthly and annual subscription plan. The annual plan brings more value to the table and is a great choice for those willing to commit to the program.

There is a 90-day money-back guarantee. You can try Singeo for 90 days to see if you like the experience. If not, you can get your money back!
