It takes time and dedication to master the flute, but there are a bunch of easy flute songs available to assist you on your way.

Picking up an instrument for the first time can be daunting for any person, that is why it’s recommended to start with the basics and learn the fundamentals first. After you’ve become comfortable with the basics and want to try your hand at some songs, I’ve put up a list of beginner-friendly flute tunes that will come in handy.

1. Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns is a traditional Christian folk song that children sing during Easter. To play this song, all you need is your attention and your flute. The advantage of this song is that most people already know the tune, which makes it easy to sing along when playing on the flute.

Your instrument will most likely sound different from the demonstration video at first but practice enough and soon you’ll be able to play it by heart.

2. Jingle Bells

Another traditional song that is very beginner-friendly is Jingle Bells. Everyone knows this song and will most likely take a few hours to master it. Jingle Bells is normally described as a beginner song because it is relatively simple and has only a few notes.

We’ve all sung happy birthday countless times, however, not many of us have the chance to learn this song on the flute. Happy birthday is one of the most popular songs to play on the flute because it is simple and you can keep getting better at it without too much trouble.

Happy birthday may be one of the first songs you learn when picking up a new instrument. It’s a very simple song, and it sounds beautiful too. You may have an unexpected bonus in store for the birthday girl or guy next time you wish someone a happy birthday.

4. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Once again a traditional song that we all know and enjoy. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a beginner-friendly flute song that every beginning flute player can learn easily. With the instruction video, you will be able to learn the song in no time.

6. My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion

My Heart Will Go On is the biggest pop ballad of all time. Writing it, however, proved to be a struggle for Titanic’s songwriters James Horner and Will Jennings. On the other hand, playing it on the flute proved to be much easier. Any beginner can take up the challenge.

7. Ode To Joy – Beethoven
