  1. Hey Tobi, thanks for your comment. I’ve updated the article here to share some of your points in more detail. Btw, your Max for Live devices are amazing. On behalf of the entire community of drummers that use Ableton Live, THANK YOU!

  2. Hi Tim, the Roland Go:Mixer Pro (or possibly any cheaper alternatives if you can find them) would probably be a good option.

  3. Thanks David – very good point! I’ve added it to the article.

  4. Hey, I’d definitely recommend Ableton Live if you’re thinking of following along to Ableton lessons. They have somewhat similar workflows, but the interfaces, stock plugins, and features are still different. When they tell you to drag in a certain stock plugin or preset for example (e.g. Operator, Analog, Drum Buss, “a little warmer”, etc) even if you already have a working knowledge of the concepts, it’s still going to slow you down trying to figure out how to do the same thing in Bitwig.

  5. Thanks Weston – I’ve updated the section on Bitwig pricing so it’s a bit clearer!
Agreed on the CPU front… Ableton are getting some complaints right now about Live 11 CPU issues in particular, which they’ll hopefully resolve in future updates.

  6. Hi Rory, I 100% agree with everything you wrote! Yeah, you have to be very selective with who you apply to on Submithub, and it’s still a bit of a guessing game from then on. I think when releasing experimental, you need to be really careful with who you send your music to on this platform, there’s a lot of very opinionated curators that are single-minded and will offer bad advice or conflicting feedback. Artists that don’t follow their own vision might end up ruining their music by making it overly generic just to please the curators. I’ve just updated the article intro, your comment got me thinking that I hadn’t highlighted the negatives enough at the start of the post.

Yeah, intros are getting shorter and shorter in released music these days. Attention spans are seriously decreasing!

    Thanks for writing!

  7. Hi, I’ve fixed the link – thanks!

  8. Hi Sobers – I’m not sure about multiplayer game suggestions tbh, but here are some options that might be of some use: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Experiments and https://pbskids.org/games/music/

  9. Thanks for sharing your collaboration solution, Ivo.
