Favorite guitar

Everything about this guitar is great. The action is perfect and neck is smooth. It took over as my favorite guitar

Great guitar for a budget build!

I purchased this guitar with the intention of making a Skystang I (Kurt Cobain Fender Mustang) replica. The guitar is "not so great" without any upgrades, the fretboard is small compared to a strat neck, but it's all about getting used to it. The neck pick up is good, but the bridge definitely needs a replacement.

After a year of ownership, I finished my project and the guitar sounds and feels amazing, I changed all the electronics, the switches, locked the tremolo for more stability, changed the bridge for a Gotoh TOM style one, and polished the frets. If you're looking for a good guitar for a project build, this is the right one for it!

Here are some pictures from when I got it, to when I finished the build!

This guitar is GREAT!!!

I wanted a guitar that was gonna be reliable but didn't have a $2000.00 price tag. Yes, I'm a Nirvana fan so this just made sense. It's just like the Mustangs from the 60's era with the phase switches and all that. Its got a bone nut which is usually either on higher end guitars or an aftermarket upgrade mosts shops will charge you $. I will say that the stock electronics are utter CRAP! And the pickups aren't very good either. But thats to be expected in a guitar in this price range. I ordered a Mustang wiring kit from Toneshapers.com and a Seymour Duncan hot rail from Musiciansfriend.com and now its a totally different breed! Oh AND I replaced the stock no name dynamic vibrato with a Fender dynamic vibrato tail piece that converts it to a hardtail. So yes, I DID put more money into it. But Fender doesn't sell EXACTLY what I want so I did it myself. I advise you to do the same and you'll have a guitar so good you'll buy a second one which I'll be doing in a few weeks!!!

Small guitar, big horsepower

First impression out of the package, the color is much lighter than expected. It's a sonic blue with a surf pearl undertone, not a complaint its unique. The neck finish is really nice, just needs some conditioning on the fretboard. The pickups are great, from clean to distorted they handle it all. The pickup switches are good if you like the option of in/out phase sounds. The switches aren't as easy as a toggle switch, they take a little effort to move. Cant say much about the tremolo, I dont really use it. I really like the familiar strat feel of this guitar with the offset body, no cutaway for your belly or forearm. This is my only 24" scale guitar, and the one I play the most. I have big hands and i find it easier to play for longer and stretch into new territory. it's well balanced and fun to play, would definitely recommend!

Amazing Guitar!

This Squier Classic Vibe Mustang plays better than a lot of the Fender player Mustangs that I've played. It's a great budget guitar if your looking for good Grunge tones at a low price like I was. It has a thin neck so you can move lighting fast around it and it has an Indian Laurel fingerboard which is just a cheaper version of Rosewood, so you get the great Rosewood tones heard from Kurt Cobain guitars for example.
Music background: Classical Piano, Voice, and Guitar
