Nothing Rocks Quite Like a Fender Twin

Fender's '68 Custom Twin Reverb combo amp brings you everything you love about the classic Twin Reverb such as all-tube circuitry. But Fender went above and beyond to imbue the '68 Custom Twin Reverb with the character of the '60s original. Inside, you'll find custom-made Schumacher transformers, just like they used on the originals. The tube sockets are handwired, and Fender even reduced the negative feedback, which gives you exceptional touch sensitivity. No matter how you look at it, the '68 Custom Twin Reverb was made to play and perform like a classic.

Fender '68 Custom Twin Reverb All-tube Combo Amplifier at a Glance:
  • Classic looks and design
  • Two amps in one
  • Hot-rodded sound and response
Classic looks and design

Fender created the all-tube '68 Custom Twin Reverb combo amp as a tribute to the late-'60s Silverface amps. It's dressed up with the same style of faceplate and silver-turquoise grille cloth with aluminum trim. From the handwired tube sockets to the vintage-spec Schumacher transformers, the Fender '68 Custom Twin Reverb delivers the vintage-vibed tone and feel you would expect.

Two amps in one

Fender designed the 2-channel '68 Custom Twin Reverb with two very different voices. The vintage channel delivers the classic Twin Reverb goodness you know and love. The new custom channel is based on a modified Bassman tone stack for big, fat tones. The Fender '68 Custom Twin Reverb combo amp also lets you use the classic all-tube spring reverb and tremolo circuit on both channels.

Hot-rodded sound and response

The '68 Custom Twin Reverb isn't a reissue - it's a hot-rodded tribute amp. Fender designed the custom channel of this all-tube combo amp with a modified tone circuit that delivers greater tonal flexibility when used with your favorite effects pedals. They also reduced the amp's negative feedback to give it increased touch sensitivity, and it also starts to overdrive faster. The Fender '68 Custom Twin Reverb two 12" Celestion G12V-70 speaker that give it a definite rock 'n' roll flare.

68 custom twin

Best Twin to date (in my opinion), and one of a few ... I use them for 1/2 stacks (instead of using the internal speakers ( amd I ve hd afew cut down to size), rewiring Marshall straight 60's cabs which gives the twin some bottom end and opens up the amp at cranked volumes creating a clean pallette for my pedalboard ...

68 Custom Twin Reverb

Having owned numerous Fenders and Mesa Boogies, I can equivocally say this is the best sounding amplifier I have ever used. I have been using expensive Mesa Boogies and love their capabilities and sound, but prefer not having to dial things in so much. This is a basic plug and play amp with tremolo and the worlds' most incredible reverb. The sound that comes through can be trebly if you want, but mostly deep lovely mids and bass. The only downside is the weight at 64 pounds. Believe it or not, I am now just using it as a home amp' in my den. Sounds good in low volume or especially high. As you crank it, it gets that sweet natural breakup. If you enjoy high gain, you still need a pedal, but for light to on the verge of medium, this amp will do it. If you can overlook the weight, give it a try. If you never lugged a heavy amp, now is the time to prove your manliness. You will not regret this purchase. Still a classic. Capable of any size gig, indoors or out. Hope this helps. If you are on the fence, get this amp and a BLues Junior, and you can do it all!
Music background: Garage bands for past 6-7 years, played out on occasion.

This is the one

This amp is a tank. yes, it's a lot of amp but I use it as a pedal platform and can actually find really nice low practice volumes. The tubes break up earlier than a traditional twin. and having a bassman circuit is really cool. You can bridge the channels with a patch cable for a killer sound. I ran this next to a 65 twin for a couple hours before I made my selection. I could not get the 65 to do anything but tear my eardrums out. To me with the tubes breaking up early it makes for a great edge of break up tone. I use 4 different OD's in chain in front of the amp and each one brings new life to this bad boy. It handles Fuzz really really well. I wish I used more fuzz in my playing style because of it. Every song I play sounds exactly like the recording. its amazing. I don't think enough people understand what this amp is. It took me a while to figure it out. It really is two amps in one. The tone is phenomenal. I looked at smaller amps and they just don't move air like a 12in speaker. Tons of headroom. really the entire 68 custom line from fender is amazing, but why not have the best one?

Worth the weight

Just deal with the permanent bruise on your thigh from carrying this thing from gig to gig and put some casters on it for those rare instances that the terrain is smooth enough to give your back a break. Quit crying. It’s amazing. I like both channels but I tend to stick with the vintage side for live use. Bass/Mids/Treble all cranked with the bright switch off, reverb at 5, and I’m set. I play rock ‘n’ roll but love that this amp will literally do it all. I bought it used and have played it heavily with no reliability issues yet.

This amp is great and my pedals sound awesome through it.
