A True Tube-powered Classic

The 22-watt '65 Deluxe Reverb just bleeds tube tone, thanks to its four 12AX7s, two 12AT7s, two 6V6s, and a 5AR4 rectifier tube - not to mention that both the reverb and vibrato are tube driven. A single 12" speaker puts the finishing touches on the fat sounds conjured by this reissued classic. The '65 Deluxe Reverb is the perfect amp for anyone who craves pure Fender tone but doesn't need a ton of wattage. Black vinyl and silver grille cloth round out the vintage look of the beautiful '65 Deluxe Reverb.

Classic Fender clean tones

The 22-watt '65 Deluxe Reverb amp is for rock, country, or blues players who want a moderately powered amp that they can crank up on the gig or in the studio. The fat, snappy guitar tones heard on many of our favorite recordings, from Memphis to Abbey Road, were made using the Deluxe amp.

Tubes for tone

The Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb features a pair of 6V6 Groove Tubes output tubes, one 5AR4 rectifier tube, four 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 12AT7 tubes, one 12" 8-ohm Jensen C-12K speaker, dual channels (normal and vibrato), tube-driven Fender reverb, tube vibrato, a 2-button footswitch for reverb and vibrato on/off, black textured vinyl covering, and a silver grille cloth.

Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Tube Combo Amplifier Features:

Classic Fender Tone

Great classic amp. Pedal platform
Possibly the most recorded amp in history for classic recordings. If you want that spanky, clean then this is it. It also overdrives gloriously as well, but it's pretty darn loud.
The bright cap:
Unless you're playing at band volumes, cut that sucker out, and the Vibrato channel will sound like the Normal channel. You can just snip one leg of it and leave it. I did this and I also modified the amp so that the Normal channel has reverb and tremolo/vibrato or whatever.
It is such a great amp. I've had mine since 2006. For many years it was my only amp, and I've played the crap outta it. It's been played at countless rehearsals and gigs, played loud, endless hours at low volume at home. It's just been a workhorse. I'm always surprised at how much these things cost nowadays though. Yikes!
If you want to hear my amp, search my name on you tube: Hollis Prince. Many of the live recordings of my band I'm playing a Mesa/Boogie Electra Dyne, but there's one video comparing both amps. It'll give a good representation of how it sounds in the room.
This amp is amazing; I'd never sell it. Sweetwater is amazing too!
Music background: 35 years playing drums, guitar, vocals. Gigging musician on and off for a lot of that time. I'm now 45.

Perfect for home and more

I had an amp that was too powerful for my home. So I started shopping for an amp that could get loud, but also worked for home use. Yes the tone is amazing. Great cleans and uses pedals well. What I loved about it is I can crank it up when no one is home, but also fret tone when I turn it down low when my kids are in bed. I tested a blues deluxe, hot rod, and a Princeton when shopping and this was my favorite. I'll also say that I played the Tonemaster version and it sounded amazing. The tonemaster and the valve version did sound different, but blindfolded, I wouldn't be able to pick out which was the valve. My guitar snobbiness made me get the valve, but I bet I would've loved the Tonemaster too.

Best of the Best

I'll admit I'm a Fender tube amp junkie however this amp takes the cake. I've own'd a silver face vibroluxe, Blues Jr, hot rod deluxe, Princeton reissue, super and a twin. Every single one of those amps has something special. But they all also have shortcomings. Some are way too heavy, some are WAY too loud (once you find the sweet spot) and some just aren't powerful enough. The 65' deluxe reverb reissue is literally the best of all of those amps (in my opinion of course) with none of the bad. It's still very loud and has no issues keeping up with an over zealous drummer but this amp just has a "thing" and I've been looking for that "thing" for a very long time. Thank you fender for keeping true to your roots, this amp will never leave my possession.

Truly a deluxe

This is the amp that I've been looking for my whole life. This amp has an amazing tone. I have been using solid state amps and a few years ago bought a line 6 Bogner that has a nice tone with all the effects, but when I fired this up I now understand the attraction to true tube amps. The warmth out of a 112 is surprising. Then of course there is the fender reverb. Oh wait then you crank it up and the break up is what I was searching for in a distortion pedal. I don't know if this is the amp for you but for country/rock or blues it would be hard to beat. I am excited about playing again!

Tone for days!!!!!!

Incredible little amp! The cleans are so sweet on this thing and I'm talking at 5 on the dial! And that's with all of my guitars from strats and teles to les Paul's and SG's and even my hamer echo tone (335 style) !!!! Great pedal platform and I recently got a 1x15" peavey classic cab that added some really great low end to the mix!!
Music background: Hobby, jam sessions with my son and friends. Gear collector and guitar builder

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Nick Dutiel

I usually gravitate toward jazz and blues, so I need a clean amp with enough headroom to handle any overdrive or distortion pedals I throw at it. That's why the '65 Deluxe Reverb is such a good fit for me. In terms of volume and headroom, this amp totally redefines what 22 watts means to me. It may be super clean, but I can still get plenty of different tones out of it, from dark and glassy leads to open and crisp rhythms, all with just a pair of tone controls. And with Fender's spring reverb and tube vibrato onboard, this '65 Deluxe is my all-time favorite gigging amp.

It’s impossible to imagine a world without Fender guitars, and if you’re like many of the guitarists at Sweetwater, then Fender not only made the first guitar you ever bought " they made the last one too!
