Create the perfect bass guitar tone

Achieving chest-thumping bass guitar tone is easy with the MAX 100. Sculpt your sound to perfection with a 3-band EQ. Then put your own sonic stamp on it with Overdrive, Contour, Mid Shift, and Bright controls. Drench your playing in ear-popping harmonics and subharmonics with the MAX 100's Kosmos-C bass enhancement. You also get Peavey's acclaimed DDT speaker protection technology that's ideal for slapping and other loud playing scenarios.

Loads of player-friendly features

It's easy to build your bass rig around the MAX 100. A bass-specific chromatic tuner prevents an out-of-tune bass from wrecking your performance. You also get an effects loop for integrating your pedals and external processors. Beyond that, its angled baffle design directs your sound right where you want it — no need to tilt your amp back. The bassists here at Sweetwater appreciate the Peavey MAX 100's player-friendly features.

Lightweight and portable

The MAX 100 was designed with portability in mind. In fact, its power-to-weight ratio is downright impressive! And how did Peavey achieve this? Great sound and volume for a little amp

For a smaller amp with a competitive price point you get great sound and it is certainly enough amp for my house.

Great Practice/Stage Monitor Amp

I bought my Peavey MAX100 to use as a stage monitor/DI with my church orchestra. In that role the unit works very well - the DI is super quiet and it puts out enough sound through the ten inch speaker to re-enforce my (in ears) main monitor mix. It has a very good weight to power ratio and could easily handle most small to moderate gigs on its own. Tilting the speaker (instead of the amp) is a great idea and it really does preserve the bass while putting the sound where you need it. I also like the over all look and design of the amp with the main controls on the amp being very straight-forward and easy to use. The curved grill and the grey and black color scheme also look sharp and professional on stage.

I find that most of the preset buttons are nice to have but I seldom if ever use them, with of course the exception of the mute/tuner function. I also wish that Peavey would have given users the option of a pre/post DI switch with a separate volume knob instead of just a pre-amp out. Having an amp cover would have also been nice, but all of these things are only worth one star in my review.

So if you are considering purchasing a small practice/monitor/performance bass amp with a great weight to power curve, a dead quiet DI and don't want to break your bank account to buy it - this might just be an amp for you.
