Pandemic groove

I grew up as a singer and a piano player, but didn't get into playing stringed instruments until I was well into my adulthood. I've been playing full-size acoustic electric basses for several years, now, but still consider myself a newbie—largely because of the exigencies of life that make it tough to practice, every day (alas). Since the pandemic began, I've had a very different kind of a schedule (!), and have been playing more often than had been possible, before. I've also been composing tunes and laying down some tracks. Although I love my two full-size acoustic electric basses, I realized that I'd really enjoy having a mini. I did a ton of research, talked with friends who are fellow musicians, and am THRILLED that I bought my new Cordoba mini bass from Sweetwater Sound. Most importantly—I am thrilled that I got the Cordoba Mini II Bass EB-E. One of the best decisions I've ever made. The natural spruce top is a dream, and all of the details are beautiful. Good set-up, terrific lines, versatile, resonant. Bottom line, of course, is the sound, and it plays like an angel. I am actually used to a bit higher action, but the action on this little beauty is like butter, so I'm not complaining (on the contrary). I cannot put it down, but I must, for other responsibilities call. I have never (ever) bought an instrument online, until now, but have no regrets about this outcome. Everyone at Sweetwater has been amazing, and I am very satisfied. Will definitely be recommending the Cordoba Mini II Bass EB-E to others, and recommending Sweetwater Sound, as well. Thanks, Adam, Nick, and Ben. Huzzah. And, thanks, Cordoba, for making the pandemic of 2020 far more bearable for me, and the cat, who awaits his next serenade.

So much fun

I play guitar mainly, but have been wanting to pick up bass, if not just to noodle around while chilling on my couch, outside camping, by the pool, etc.. I've tried a couple full sized acoustic basses and have been unhappy with tone and projection. I saw this and thought it was worth a shot (thank you Sweetwater for the no risk policy, it made it an easy decision). I am so happy with this instrument. Well built, nice set up, and a breeze to play. The electronics make it boom, but it holds its own as an acoustic. I've been addicted to it. I thought of it as a sort of toy to mess with before I received it, but now realize I underestimated it and would totally use it for small shows and recording. I find myself grabbing it whenever it's within reach. A very fun to play instrument.

Cordoba Mini II EB-E Bass

I visited the main Sweetwater store in Fort Wayne, Indiana with the the intentions of picking up a guitar slide for a recent shovel guitar build and left with this Cordoba Mini II EB-E bass. During the beginning of the pandemic, I picked up an electric bass and been playing for two years plus and been enjoying it very much. In addition, expanded my interest to building 3-string instruments, i.e. shovel and cigar box guitars. I've been doing research on acoustic bass brands and playing them in various stores. However, when I came across the Cordoba Mini II EB-E bass, I enjoyed it right away. I do not consider myself to be a professional musician, however, I believe in going with an instrument that speaks to you, whether it's feel, sound and general attitude, etc. After playing the bass for a week, I discovered I picked up a lot of bad playing habits. As a previous reviewer mentioned fret buzz, I am experiencing it as well. However, I believe it is caused by my poor finger placement, plus I have a slight tremor which creates a bit of an issue. As I started to play the bass correctly, I have noticed the fret buzz going away, for the exception in frets 16 and up. Lastly, I purchased this bass to be able to play after hours, as my neighborhood has a noise ordinance and it's small enough to travel

Great guitar but…..

Comfortable enough to play for hours, good tone plugged in or unplugged, the FIRST ONE I bought had non-fixable buzzing problems, and it's replacement ( and ALL OTHER GUITARS AT SWEETWATER of this make/model would have intonation problems and would not play in tune-
An unsatisfactory experience.
