Impeccable Design and Playability from Godin

If you are looking for versatility, playability, and amazing stage-ready design, the Godin Session HT is an incredible solidbody electric guitar at a great price point. The Session HT is cut to a classic offset body design with a resonant, lightweight silver maple body. A smooth maple neck with Indian laurel fingerboard offers incredible playability and response. A versatile trio of 2 single-coil pickups and 1 humbucker offers outstanding tone-shaping that spans genres, letting you throw open the doors of exploration. A hardtail bridge also offers impeccable sustain and tuning support — ideal for soaring leads and lilting rhythms alike.

Trio of sound and tone

The 2 custom single-coil GS1’s in the neck and middle position on the Session HT deliver all the warm, clear single-coil tone that players love. Paired with a custom Godin humbucker in the bridge, the GS1’s deliver incredible tone that can be further shaped to your liking with a push-pull split in the Tone control along with a Volume control and 5-way switch. Dial up the punch of your single-coils for soaring, chimey leads, and jump to the bridge humbucker when you want to bring the growl and crunch. This trio has been a huge hit among guitarists here at Sweetwater.

Bridge to great sustain!

The hardtail bridge on the Session HT provides more sustain and tuning stability than a traditional tremolo, letting you go places with your bends that will delight you and your audience. A hardtail bridge leaves more wood in the body, increasing the resonance and enhancing the overall tone of the guitar. The strings on the Session HT sit snugly in the hardtail bridge and nut without any pinching or binding. The results are amazing tone and epic sustain, so bend away and let those notes ring!

  • Classic offset solidbody with incredible design and playability at an amazing price point

Godin HT

Best bang for the buck for a "strat" style HSS. The neck feels nice, the fret work is great for a guitar in this price range and the frets themselves set nice and tall. Has 12" flat fretboard and a 25.5" scale length. Machine heads stay in tune and it came set up. No complaints. I will say that while the pickups do sound good that they are ceramic magnets and not alnico. Personally i much prefer alnico magnets on single coils but that purely is a personal choice. Otherwise im absolutely happy with this purchase!!!

Great guitar!

I've been playing guitar for over 50 years now and have owned and played a ton of guitars. This Godin Session HT RW can hang with the best of them. I contacted Godin and got some more info on mine. It has a rosewood fingerboard, not Indian laurel, and it has minor chambering underneath the pickguard. The body is basswood, not maple. The pickups are ceramic but I don't care, they sound fantastic. The quality on mine is impeccable and flawless. I am very satisfied with this model.

Great Strat Style Guitar

Was looking to purchase a Fender Player or Player Plus, and ended up choosing to go with the Session HT instead. I would have chosen the Godin over both even if it was not less expensive. The neck felt nicer than the MIMs, the fretwork is great, and I really like all of the tone options with the HSS setup and push/pull tone selector. The sustain is also pretty amazing. The only thing I have noticed is that there is some hum with the single coils (my first electric is a SG style with HH config and does not hum). I want to mess with the setup to see if it can be improved, but I am so happy with the sound right now that I am hesitant to tinker with it. Picked up a B-stock where the only blemishes were: 1) dark wood streak near the truss adjuster in the headstock, and 2) it was displayed in a trade show.

Love It!

Just to be clear, 5 stars for the money/quality, not 5 stars out of the entire guitar universe, still - what's not to love. Family owned business based in Montreal with an additional factory in New Hampshire. That's one of the sons playing this guitar in the demo video. I own a Godin LGXT, so I know what they are capable of. I wasn't looking for another Godin, I was looking for a quality, basic guitar. I spent quite a bit of time looking through the Strat and Tele families before the Godin Session HT caught my eye.

I doubt there's more instrument for the money anywhere and this gave me exactly what I wanted - a basic hard tail solid body with a nice range of pickups and combinations. Nice matte finish that demands not to be coddled.

There's no manual for this. The 5 position switch does exactly what you'd expect. Pulling the tone knob out splits the humbucker.

Winner

Fit and finish are virtually flawless on mine. Extremely comfortable guitar with one of the nicest hardtail bridges I've used. No fret buzz or tuning issues to speak of. Surprising amount of sustain for a bolt on s-type guitar. The humbucker sounds great, but the single coils are a bit lacking. Very reminiscent of the old Standard Strat pickups. Lastly, I am not a "country of origin" snob, but it's certainly special being able to buy a North American made instrument for this price.
