Classic Early '60s Single-coil Tone, Hum-free Performance!

The DiMarzio Area 61 electric guitar pickup captures the classic sound of an early '60s Strat pickup while giving you hum-free performance. Sweetwater single-coilists recommend the Area 61 for any of your Strat-style guitar's three pickup positions, and for or just about any guitar that accepts single-coils. The Area 61 also produces less magnet pull for better intonation and sustain. Depending on your pick attack and guitar volume, you can get everything from tough tones to crystalline clean sounds from your favorite guitar when you use the Area 61.

DiMarzio Area 61 Humbucking Electric Guitar Pickup Features:
  • Color: Aged White

  • Magnet: Alnico 2

DiMarzio Area 61

Installed this in the neck position of my '91 strat deluxe, and WOW! From pristine clean(without sounding thin) to fat growl, this pickup does it all. I believe its great for any position on a strat.

A good sounding hum cancelling strat pickup

The Area 62 is a very nice sounding pickup. It has a good high end, not quite as sparkly as a true single coil, but one of the best hum cancelling pickups I've heard. The high end is not harsh and the pickup has a nice full tone. While it is true it is a tiny bit more compressed sounding, in a live context it is actually a good thing. I'll definitely get more of these in the future..

I like it just fine

The humbucking quality is very effective, most welcome, and does not seem to degrade the output or sonic qualities. I used this in the neck position, replacing Seymour Duncan Antiquity Texas Hot, which didn't have what I think is the signature Strat sound, and wasn't that "Hot". It seemed to simply have more mids, which I am not looking for when I grab a Strat. I want it to sound like a Strat, like my other Strat that has a set of Fender '69 Custom Shop PUPS. Now, that sounds like a Strat! This PUP gives some of that
