The Most Advanced BOSS ME Guitar Processor Yet

The BOSS ME-90 is the company's most advanced ME-series all-in-one guitar processor to date, arming you with superior 24-bit AD/DA, powerful 32-bit floating-point processing, and intuitive stompbox-style operation. This tone-packed multi-effects pedal houses 11 onboard AIRD amp models, 60 flagship-grade effects, a dedicated amp section, and seven simultaneous effects categories. The ME-90 also supplies eight multifunction footswitches and an expression pedal for real-time control. Manual mode unlocks pedalboard-style operation, and Memory mode enables you to toggle between complete patch setups. You can also use BOSS Tone Studio software for fast-and-easy parameter editing, amp and effects configuration, and more. The ME-90 includes a premium-quality IR loader, an effects loop, USB-C connectivity, and Bluetooth capabilities via an optional adapter. Compact, battery-powered, and teeming with some of the best tones BOSS has ever produced, the ME-90 makes building a custom guitar rig easier than ever.

Flagship-quality BOSS effects and AIRD amp models

The guitarists here at Sweetwater are blown away by how many sounds the ME-90 puts at your feet. You get a massive library of premium BOSS effects in seven different categories, all derived from the company's flagship GT-1000 multi-effects pedal. You get everything you need, from overdrives and distortions to pitch and modulation effects, delays, and studio-quality reverbs. You also get 11 dedicated Pedal FX, a looper, and specialized effects, including an acoustic guitar and down-tuned simulations. As for amplifiers, the ME-90's AIRD-powered amp models are second to none, covering everything from squeaky-clean combos to red-hot high-gain stacks, supplying you with authentic tube tones with realistic touch response. Each amp includes a dedicated cab, plus you can load three of your favorite speaker IRs. The ME-90 gives you 60 effects in total, along with 11 onboard amp types, plus you can access more via BOSS Tone Studio software.

Easy sound creation and flexible real-time control

Thanks to its knob-driven interface and stompbox-style layout, building configurations and tweaking tones with the BOSS ME-90 are a walk in the park. You get all the benefits of a well-appointed pedalboard without worrying about messy connection cables, power distribution, and cumbersome hook-and-loop fasteners. The ME-90's eight footswitches operate smoothly and quietly, and its built-in expression pedal provides effortless real-time control over your effects. You can use the ME-90's Memory mode to call up complete patch setups using the footswitches, or you can use Manual for direct control of each effect category within a patch. The footswitches on this guitar multi-effects pedal include colored LEDs for at-a-glance identification. Moreover, you can set the LEDs to light in a fixed color for each mode.

Extended configuration and editing

If you really want to extend the ME-90's configuration and editing capabilities, fire up BOSS Tone Studio software on your Mac or Windows-based PC. With BOSS Tone Studio, you can edit tones, change out amp and effect types, and a whole lot more. You can also save and organize your patches for different applications, download professionally crafted setups from BOSS Tone Central, and swap patches with the robust ME-90 community on BOSS Tone Exchange. You can also purchase an optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter (sold separately), which allows you to stream music from a mobile device and wirelessly shape tones using a dedicated app on your smart device.

Boss ME 90

I got the boss ME 90 for Christmas. I had to update the firmware from O2 to 03, and that was a little scary because they said if you make a mistake they would have to be returned for reconfiguration. Well, I didn't make mistake I guess cause it seems to work fine. Fine is not good word for this, really exceptional. I love the sounds I can creates on my guitars just playing through the ME 90 using headphones: super clean and really fun to experiment with. Can't wait to plug into the PA system at Church and rock out for the glory of God. Randy

Overall a Good Unit

I am enjoying the pedalboard. Sounds are excellent. Many different sounds. My only caveat is that it doesn't have an LCD readout or display. The knobs are quite small and sometimes it is hard to tell exactly which tone is selected. This day in age, it would be great to have a digital readout display to see exactly what preset is selected. The build quality is excellent and very rugged. It should do well on the road. I do think the AC Adapter should be included at this price point, and not an option. BOSS hits another home run with this unit, just not a Grand Slam. I would recommend it. Sweetwater service was once again excellent!!!

Just what I need and nothing more

I am not an IT Tech so after reviewing many vid's and reading reviews on the ME90 I bought it, it has all the sounds I would use in my band, I still like to use an amp I am not a Helix guy and heard other friends use it to go into a sound board and the ME90 has 11 amp models which do the job for me, even through my amp so I basically have a pedal board and thats all I was looking for, I cannot even use all the effects on it so I have plenty of pedals all in one board, the distortions are great in sound and the extra EQ makes a big difference when it comes to getting the right tone, the price is great and I have the ME 70 which is out dated in sound, this is just as good as the more expensive boards out there, if your looking for quality sound and all the effects you ever needed this is for you or at least me, many upgrades to this board, I only wish my amp had an effects loop, but I am working on getting another amp, but into the front is just as good I have a Fender Twin Reverb Tone Master but it is solid state, so no effects loop but it does what I need it to do, just a great pedal board the ME 90 , I am a real costumer, I read reviews and some times you wonder if they are real, I am real, thanks Tiberius for your help in choosing what I need, very user friendly and is like having all the the pedals you can ever use with out buying them seperatly , great value ,as always Sweet Water is where I get my equipment from.
Music background: 45 years playing , in band we do 60's and early 70's songs

Makes Single-Effect Pedals Obsolete

There's no longer any valid reason to spend a mint on populating one's pedal board. Any guitar tone one may imagine, and more, can be had through this latest iteration of Boss's ME series.

The only weakness of the prior model, the ME-80, was that its COSM preamp emulations weren't the best, which is fixed with AIRD.

While most other multi-effect devices use a LCD for user interface, the MEs have old-school knobs and LEDs. Some may consider this approach troublesome and/or antiquated; but it aligns with the manner by which most conventional single-effect pedals are controlled; so, guitarists familiar with those will have a much more seamless migration to the realm of multi-effects via the ME-90.

While the biggest advantages of this vs. a pedal board are cost (The cost/benefit analysis of spending the same amount on either 3 conventional pedals that do 3 effects vs. 1 ME-90 that does 40 effects is quite simple - a no-brainer.) and space/convenience (The difference between bringing a ME-90 to a gig or practice vs. lugging around a plethora of pedals & their power supplies, jumpers, and board is significant.).

But, the other advantage is the potential to experiment. I commonly just use around 8 effects; but the tonal possibilities from fiddling around with the other available options are virtually limitless. If one imagines a tone's qualities, it can be created by combining and adjusting (where the knob interface really shines) ME-90 effects; but, by playing around with combinations and adjustments, one can come across unimagined, worthwhile tones and, if composing, get as creative with a work's tone as much as with the melody.

Covering songs from a variety of artists is simplified. Whichever effects each use are available and can be preprogrammed into patches, readily accessible with a couple taps of the foot.

There are devices that do this even better, but they generally cost four times as much as a ME-90 or more. Especially in practice & gig scenarios, audio differences between them & the ME-90 are virtually indistinguishable - meaning this gear gives its guitarist the most bang for the buck.

...and if one has a stereotypical anti-gear spouse, a ME-90 purchase may be readily explained by highlighting the long-term savings from not needing hundreds if not thousands of dollars of individual effect pedals. (It worked for me!)
